The all new Saucony Ride 18

The all new Saucony Ride 18 has just landed in store.

The Saucony Ride 18 is a core neutral cushioning training shoe from Saucony. Built as the most versatile shoe in their line, it brings premium foam innovation and comfort that feels as good on a 10 mile run as it does in a session at the gym or a well-earned recovery walk.

The Saucony Ride 18’s ample cushioning keeps you comfortable while still allowing you to feel the ground beneath your feet. And the cushioning, Saucony’s proprietary PWRRUN+ formula, is not too soft or to firm, it is just right.

The latest version of the Ride, available in store now, features minimal updates but does come in slightly lighter than the Saucony Ride 17. Is continued simplicity a good thing when it comes to this franchise, or is the Ride 18 a bit boring? Read on to hear our thoughts.

The tongue is plush and padded on the new Saucony Ride 18, and the material inside the heel collar feels like silk. Most running shoes have the main lacing eyelet and then an extra one should runners want to tie the marathon loop, but the Ride 18 has three, allowing for a more secure fit around the heel and achilles for those runners who like extra support in that area of the foot. The plusher upper makes the shoe fit slightly wider than previous models.

In essence, the Saucony Ride 18 and the Saucony Ride 17 are fairly similar, using the same PWRRUN+ midsole, the same stack height and the same heel to toe drop.

The Saucony Ride 18 definitely feels more premium and the slight weight loss allows it to be a more versatile shoe.
